Partly Cloudy and 100% Awesome

.  The new cloud necklaces from Be Joyful are clever, simple and interactive: 3 elements that make these a win for giving or for keeps.

A cluster of old fashioned boot buttons with a single drop strung from the center emotively suggests a cloud doing what clouds do best.  The grouping easily glides on a corded chain for no reason at all
which is delightfully appealing to us.
For especially "changeable" gals, these gems can be used as a handy indicator of emotional stability - not unlike old fashioned mood rings or our home state's beloved weather beacon - with Black signalling "go away and come again another day"  while White beckons " It's a good day for a long talk and a Lifetime movie".
One  look and they'll know - you've got exceptional taste in jewelry:)

Designer Q&A: Joy Hockensmith

Meet Joy, the designer behind jewelry line Be Joyful. Her fun and unique rings, earrings, and necklaces can be found in the shop. Read on to find out more about how she got her start, her favorite trends,  and what she has next for Be Joyful!

Introduce yourself

Joy Hockensmith

How did you get started?
I started making jewelry when I was young. My Mother had an extensive jewelry collection and would ask me to fix the broken pieces. Sometimes pieces could not be fixed and that left me with the challenge of making them into something useful so that they can continue to be enjoyed. I learned silversmithing at The Art Center.

What are you up to now?
I just finished a bunch of “love” necklaces for Vitae’s Valentine’s promotion. I’ll be making polymer flowers to add to pieces I’ll have for spring.

Forward Thinking

It's time for sequines, schmazzle, dazzle & shine!  The last round of holidays are nearly behind us & it's been great.  If you've been strategic, you may even have something left of your cookie stash, but I ask  who is not ready for a new year?

We've all been on both sides of the leading questions "are you ready to... get back to school,  for that new little sister,  are you ready for Christmas??" all cruelly stoking the embers of stress within us.

New years is different though...are you ready for a new start?  A clean slate?  For bright and shiny happy times?  Heck yessssssssss.  Happy New Year to everyone!!

Rock in the New Year with anything from Girl Friday & you'll be stepping in style!
From mirthy to earthy Be Joyful sets the tone on a high note :)
